The Flametrick Subs are a B-Music, toungue in cheek, rockabilly nightmare straight out the grave, deep in the heart of Texas. The band started playing in 1989, and has released 5 albums and a full-length DVD. Primarily a live act, the Subs have played extensively throughout the Southwest, spreading their beer-soaked gospel of "Feel good now, feel bad about it later" to all who'll listen. After a brief hiatus, they're back and worse than ever. "Don't be scared, be prepared."
Formed in the spring of ought-two, Whiskey Business plays music that was brought forth by the devil himself, glorifyin' sins of the flesh and immoral activities of all sorts. Just by listenin' to a single show, perfectly respectable women have been known to bare their ankles and engage in lascivious behaviors unbecoming of a lady. Men who beforehand had never touched the devil's liquor become enraged with the evil spirit, and stumble around like fools.
Austin's own born and raised open-source music project. A mix of jam, blues, and rock opera with an orchestral mardi gras feel. Every Wednesday night we get together and work on songs or create them through spontaneous jamming. Each week, we record the results and post them to our Google group. These are used for rehearsal and inspiration to anyone who happens along our music. We create anything from love ballads to rock operas, and love wearing fabulous costumes. Just give us an excuse!
Luna Tart has been singing for a long time. She was in cabaret's before your mother was born. She picks up her little ukulele and sings very sad songs.
The Lovers were born from a family of friends deep within the oasis of the Texas Hill Country. In the Christmas of 2004, embracing the spirit of creation rather than consumption, they made a holiday album for their families. They decided the music should continue, and the band emerged. Three singers, electric and acoustic guitars, a lilting flute, imaginative percussion and steady bass make for a vibrant, ever-changing sound. Conscious lyrics complete the experience. Let yourself be loved!
Think of the darkest shadow under the bed, the dustiest memory on the shelf, the most brilliant color you ever felt. That is where our songs come from.
